The 45-second egg
Below is some French-designed microwaveable egg cooker I acquired from Draeger's for about $8. It's designed for cooking a single egg, but I'm going to experiment with it "because it's there".
Normally one just cracks a large egg and empties yolk and albumen into the cooker. Don't forget to pierce the yolk with a fork, toothpick, ball point pen, etc.
Screw on the lid, pop it into the microwave, and cook it on HIGH for 45 seconds. Take it out, screw off the lid, and admire your (hopefully) hard-boiled creation. You may need to add/subtract seconds based on how powerful your microwave is.
It's simple to use, there isn't any oil/grease/PAM added, and it's simple to clean. I think it may be my new housewarming gift to friends who have neither an aversion nor allergy to eggs.
